Inspect Belts
Belts on evaporator motors or any other equipment need to be checked
regularly for signs of wear and tear such as cracks or signs of friction
burns caused by loose belts. A loose belt is an easy fix and will
improve air flow as well as lower electric consumption with less
equipment run time.
Properly adjusted belts will:
- Cool better and more efficiently
- Save on Electric Bills
- Prevent system damage
- Increase Air Flow
- Prevent coil freezing due to low air flow
Besides the above a properly adjusted belt in good shape will help
prevent your airconditioner from going down on a hot summer day.
Although most homes will not have belts they are very common in
commercial applications. Most homes will have direct drive type motors
which also require preventative maintenance.
